Mateusz Morawiecki: Soon the rising coal prices will be compensated

A plan to compensate for rising coal prices will be prepared by the government and will apply from August at the latest, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki announced on Monday. He emphasized that the scale of compensation will depend on the income of family members.

– Minister Anna Moscow, Minister Jacek Sasin are building a program today that will guarantee that coal prices will be the prices before the sharp rise in prices in the last few months. We want this program to be ready by August at the latest, stated the head of government.

– Depending on the level of income for a family member, we will refinance this difference, or part of it, against those prices that were a few months ago, before the sharp increase in coal prices in the world markets – he stressed.

The Prime Minister undertook that, along with the compensation for coal prices, a coal distribution system would be prepared that would allow everyone to buy it at a lower price close to their place of residence.

– The distribution mechanisms (of coal) are very important, we discussed this at the previous meeting of the Council of Ministers. We agreed that a person who does not use the Internet will be able to buy coal somewhere close to his place of residence, as before. This is our government commitment, stressed the prime minister.

Morawiecki also explained that this season the government wants to ensure that individual categories of households can buy coal at prices that are affordable for them.

According to the „Fakt” newspaper, however, all citizens will not benefit from the right to subsidize coal, suffering from the poor politics of the current government. This program is to cover people with a difficult financial situation, whose inept decisions of the „authorities” would lead to freezing in the winter season – the PiS chairman assured. However, he did not disclose any particulars.
